I’m Elliot Deady – a 17 year old runner, blogger and banker from Essex, England.

I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called aplastic anaemia in April 2009, aged 11. After months in hospital, I received a life saving bone marrow transplant in July 2010 and am proud to say that I have since made a fully recovery.

I started running in 2013 after doctors told me that I was in a state of complete remission.

I had no running experience at all but a friend and I decided we would give ourselves two months to train for our first race – the British 10k.

I’m now definitely caught the running bug and am currently training for my first marathon – London 2016!

I will be using this blog to document my training and to monitor my progress as well as write about anything that catches my interest.

I have also imported a lot of my older blog posts that I wrote on this blog when I was first diagnosed and was going through treatment.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog and keeping up to date with my progress. If you have any questions, please get in touch!
